Canadian Music

There a two things that Canada continually continues to produce: Good Comedy and Good Music. Neither of which we're really known for...

and sadly the great Canadian artists out there often go unnoticed because of all the other sub par artists who crowd their genres or just simply lack of marketing. The saddest thing of all though is that probably the most well known Canadian artist at this time, is also the most undeserving Canadian artist that i can think of.

it may be true that Justin Beiber can sing well enough, but that's just it. Well enough. The real source of his fame is that he's been marketed as "cute" and every last detail of his image has been planed and prepared by a top notch marketing and producing team. His "talent" has little to do with the matter. Not to mention soon enough, puberty is gonna hit him like a freight train and his high range, if not his entire singing voice, will go right out the window along with his career.

meanwhile the truly talented artists like:
Jully Black
Youtube Link
Youtube Link
The yet unsigned Chad Doucette
Youtube Link
Youtube Link
Bedouin Soundclash
Youtube Link
Youtube Link
among others, get left with minimal or no attention at all.

Cheers.

Final Fantasy

A few weeks ago i picked up FF12 (i know i'm late to that game but what ev) and i must say that game looks phenomenal for a last gen game. I have since bought a ps3 and a few games (i'll likely blog about them some other day) and as such have kinda stopped playing FF12 about 10 hours into it. But it did get me thinking... what would it be like to replay the greatest FF game ever made, FF7, if they were to revamp the game.

I'd really love to see the game brought back in some sort of collectors edition remake or something. It would be an absolute gem on the ps3.

Cheers.

Real Racing GTI

Real Racing GTI is a fantastic iPhone/iPod Touch racer. Centered around the 2010 Volkswagen GTI as promotional material for both Firemint Real Racing and for the GTI, the game holds a ton of value for free.

The graphics are literally like no other on the iPhone and still have yet to be matched. The game seriously looks so good that you could put this on the PS1 and pass it off as Gran Turismo. Speaking of which, it's the only racer on the iPhone to use a real physics engine and not just faked physics which is a massive plus for this game.

Upgrade Almost Done and Lots of Other Random Things

Well i have finally gotten around to transferring my domain to the new server even though the site is still a little messy. I still have to create a proper about page and remove all the gibberish placeholder text and i might just remove the photography page altogether until i can get around to it later. For some odd reason there is a problem with my locally stored images not displaying post domain name change (other than the theme images). I know that the images should still work and nothing should have broken the links, so at this time I'm still a little baffled as to how i can fix that.

But in other news, this is my first blog post since the remodeling and there are a few random whims i want to muse over: Scrubs and Pie Day.

MicroStudios will be receiving a total over haul soon and i am very very happy with what i have finished so far. If you want to see what the new MicroStudios will look like you can go to the new server to see what i have done so far. Keep in mind that this is an under construction website so things will be changing still and this is the actual place where i am working on the new site so you will see things changing right there.

also i have decided that in the past i had been a really lame blogger and done nothing good with my blog... so this time i will be managing the pages for the games/examples/photos etc. manually and i will try to manage the blog properly the way it is intended. as a blog. i will try to do a weekly post on the blog at least.

1. tabbs! the is a staple of compter web browers and i think the dsi is the perfect mobile platform to have it as well. i figure it could be done by either scrolling through them with L and R or it could be using a dropdown/pop-up menu that displayed them to see. i realize that its not a big deal aand you wouldnt be able to open very many anyway but i tink it would be handy to open that one page and brows around the beable to CLOSE it rather than going through the history to where you last left off.

Keep reading back for future news!

Edit: if you haven’t notice i haven’t really gotten around to the remodel…….. i just don’t have the free time to do so. I may one day update my copy of flatpress and then work out a nice new theme fro flat press but i don’t think i will be taking the time to make a whole new site. Just too time consuming.

Line Rider

You can have floors or ceilings, determined by the direction you draw. If you draw left to right it's a floor, if you draw right to left its a ceiling. this may sound like a very simple and boring game but trust me if you want to create something actually worth watching it's a lot harder than you think. Everything from loops to jumps and back again can be done with the line rider. I would like to warn anyone who is looking at this at work over a coffee break, this game is not safe for work! It will drag in your full attention and not let go for hours on end!

Project64, 5 games, and Mods

Project64 is an N64 emulator that is probably one of the most compatible with almost every ROM out there! ROMs are the game files needed to play each of the many N64 games floating around the net. I got all of my games from RomsCentral. This is a website that i searched for forever to find, and trust me they have almost EVERYTHING! The following file contains the Project64 1.6 program, 5 games (one of which is OOT), and a Hi-rez texture Pack for OOT along with all needed plug-ins to run it!
